Newton in Romantic mood

Newton in Romantic mood!

" Love can neither be created nor be destroyed; it can only transfer from one girlfriend to another girlfriend with some loss of money. "

First law:

"A boy in love with a girl, continue to be in love with her and a girl in love with a boy, continue to be in love with him, until on unless any external agent(brother or father of the gal) comes into play and break the legs of the boy."

Second law:

"The rate of change of intensity of love of a girl towards a boy is directly proportional to the instantaneous bank balance of the boy and the direction of this love is same to as increment or decrement of the bank balance."

Third law:

"The force applied while proposing a girl by a boy is equal and opposite to the force applied by the girl while using her sandals"

Windows Live Writer Beta just keeps getting better

Microsoft has got a winner in its hand. And its name is Windows Live Writer Beta. This is one application that Microsoft is not only developing with enthusiasm, but also taking inputs from end users and working tirelessly on it. After a long time I have seen a Microsoft app that just works right, is not bloated, is a very small download and with lots of plugins to help it out. Don't be surprised at the ease of use that Windows live Writer Beta offers you. And it still is in Beta.

Well, now a days, beta is the in thing. Its cool to tag around Beta with the name of your product/site. I mean everywhere you go online, you would find only betas.

Okay, so I strayed off topic. The topic is the Windows Live Writer. After making about fifty posts with Writer, I would gladly recommend it to anyone. I liked w.Bloggar and Performancing, but there were a lot of stuff they didn't get right. Writer supports a lot of blogging platforms right out of the box. I have found it works best with Spaces and Wordpress blogs. It works with Blogger and Blogger Beta. Though there are two very important features that I miss a lot. One I hope will be sorted out soon, and that is labels. Writer as yet does not support Blogger Beta labels. But do expect support for it very soon.

The other feature is image uploads. And that I don't think would work anytime soon. Not that Microsoft doesn't know how to implement it. But plainly because of Google's stubbornness of not allowing any other software or platform to upload images to its server. It means only Hello and Picasa as yet support image uploads, though they to suffer hiccups as of now. And Hello is soon to be phased out. So you will have to use Picasa or go and upload images manually.

There are many other options to include images in Writer when posting to Blogger Beta such as FTP and Flickr. But I am sure you will agree it is quite cumbersome and if you are a regular blogger and have to make many posts, you just don't feel it right.

Anyway's, hoping against hope some common sense will prevail at Google and they will open the image upload API.

Keep Your Goals in Sight

When she looked ahead, Florence Chadwick saw nothing but a solid wall of fog. Her body was numb. She had been swimming for nearly sixteen hours.

Already she was the first woman to swim the English Channel in both directions. Now, at age 34, her goal was to become the first woman to swim from Catalina Island to the California coast.

On that Fourth of July morning in 1952, the sea was like an ice bath and the fog was so dense she could hardly see her support boats. Sharks cruised toward her lone figure, only to be driven away by rifle shots. Against the frigid grip of the sea, she struggled on - hour after hour - while millions watched on national television.

Alongside Florence in one of the boats, her mother and her trainer offered encouragement. They told her it wasn't much farther. But all she could see was fog. They urged her not to quit. She never had . . . until then. With only a half mile to go, she asked to be pulled out.

Still thawing her chilled body several hours later, she told a reporter, "Look, I'm not excusing myself, but if I could have seen land I might have made it." It was not fatigue or even the cold water that defeated her. It was the fog. She was unable to see her goal.

Two months later, she tried again. This time, despite the same dense fog, she swam with her faith intact and her goal clearly pictured in her mind. She knew that somewhere behind that fog was land and this time she made it! Florence Chadwick became the first woman to swim the Catalina Channel, eclipsing the men's record by two hours!

The Bishop's Gift

Once a church had fallen upon hard times. Only five members were left: the pastor and four others, all over 60 years old.

In the mountains near the church there lived a retired Bishop. It occurred to the pastor to ask the Bishop if he could offer any advice that might save the church. The pastor and the Bishop spoke at length, but when asked for advice, the Bishop simply responded by saying, "I have no advice to give. The only thing I can tell you is that the Messiah is one of you."

The pastor, returning to the church, told the church members what the Bishop had said. In the months that followed, the old church members pondered the words of the Bishop. "The Messiah is one of us?" they each asked themselves. As they thought about this possibility, they all began to treat each other with extraordinary respect on the off chance that that one among them might be the Messiah. And on the off, off chance that each member himself might be the Messiah, they also began to treat themselves with extraordinary care.

As time went by, people visiting the church noticed the aura of respect and gentle kindness that surrounded the five old members of the small church. Hardly knowing why, more people began to come back to the church. They began to bring their friends, and their friends brought more friends. Within a few years, the small church had once again become a thriving church, thanks to the Bishop's gift.

A Child's Ten Commandments to Parents

A Child's Ten Commandments to Parents
  1. My hands are small. Please don't expect perfection whenever I make a bed, draw a picture or throw a ball. My legs are short. Please slow down so that I can keep up with you.

  2. My eyes have not seen the world as yours have. Please let me explore safely. Don't restrict me unnecessarily.

  3. Housework will always be there. I'm only little for such a short time. Please take time to explain things to me about this wonderful world, and do so willingly.

  4. My feelings are tender. Please be sensitive to my needs. Don't nag me all day long. (You wouldn't want to be nagged for your inquisitiveness.) Treat me as you would like to be treated.

  5. I am a special gift from God. Please treasure me, holding me accountable for my actions, giving me guidelines to live by and disciplining me in a loving manner.

  6. I need your encouragement and your praise to grow. Please go easy on the criticism. Remember, you can criticize the things I do without criticizing me.

  7. Please give me the freedom to make decisions concerning myself. Permit me to fail so that I can learn from my mistakes. Then someday, I'll be prepared to make the kind of decisions life requires of me.

  8. Please don't do things over for me. Somehow that makes me feel that my efforts didn't quite measure up to your expectations. I know it's hard, but please don't try to compare me with my brother or my sister.

  9. Please don't be afraid to leave for a weekend together. Kids need vacations from parents, just as parents need vacations from kids. Besides, it's a great way to show us kids that your marriage is very special.

  10. Please take me to worship regularly, setting a good example for me to follow.

Ayesha Takia 9 pics

Ayesha Takia (August 10, 1986; Mumbai, India) is an Indian Bollywood actress.

Ever since she began her career as an actress, Ayesha Takia has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. First it was her price. Hardly had she made her debut and the actress was said to be commanding a huge price of Rs. 50 lacs. That too at a time when she did not have a single hit to her credit. And now the rumour is that she is all set to quit the film industry and settle down in marital bliss. She has no qualms about admitting that she is in love with restaurateur Farhan Azmi. “But marriage is out of question for now,” she clarifies.

Takia was raised in Bombay. She claims that she grew up speaking English at home and had to learn Hindi for her film roles. In 2006, Ayesha Takia was amongst the Top Ten on the listing of India's 50 Most Desirable Women Alive, a poll conducted by Zoom, an Indian TV channel.

She has been a photographic model since she was four years old. She appeared in a music video, Falguni Pathak's Meri Chunar Udd Udd Jaye, when she was only fifteen. Takia vehemently claims that her video Shake it Daddy" was indeed a hit. Her video fame gave her the entry into Bollywood. She signed a contract for Socha Na Tha, then for Taarzan: The Wonder Car. However, delays in making Socha Na Tha meant that Taarzan released first and was therefore her "debut" film. Most of her films have done somewhat poorly at the box office so far.

More recently, Takia has been trying to break into the Telugu movie industry.

She won the Filmfare Best Debut Award in 2004 for her performance in Taarzan. She has previously dated Siddharth Koirala, brother of actress - Manisha Koirala.

Aircraft crashes into New York City building

A aircraft crashed into a building on the East Side of Manhattan on Wednesday, where flames were exploding out of the 19th and 20th floors of at least one building, according to televised images.

The accident, which recalled bad memories of the disastrous 2001 terrorist attacks on New York's World Trade Center, occurred on East 72nd Street, not far from the FDR drive that runs along the east side of Manhattan, according to reports on CNN and Fox News.

The stations broadcast pictures of flames coming out of several floors on two buildings. Fox news reported the flames at the 19th and 20th stories.

Fox quoted New York Fire Department officials as saying people were trapped by heavy smoke in the building or buildings.

Broadcasters relayed reassurances from security officials that it was not believed to be an intentional or terrorist attacks. Stock prices nipped down for several minutes on the trading boards of the world's financial capital, but bounced back on the reassurances, Fox reported.

But the television broadcasters said it did not to appear to be an intentional attack on the building.
